FIRST Tech Challenge Team 18603, TeraBridges, just destroyed their first scrimmage of the season! On December 7th, 2024, the MARS Robotics Association held the FTC Western Pennsylvania Green and Red scrimmage. TeraBridges entered with the first fully function prototype of their robot, Vortex!
Vortex won 5 out of 5 rounds, scoring TeraBridges the top position out of all 18 teams. All team members had a lot of fun as TeraBridges’ robot game was the best out of all teams, and Vortex had highest scoring autonomous score of the whole competition. Don’t forget the pizza for lunch!
After the competition, TeraBridges also got a chance to talk to Daphne, the FIRST Tech Challenge coordinator of Pennsylvania. The team got some valuable advice about the portfolio, and the best methods and tips for the presentation that would take place at qualifiers.
And to top it all of, Mr. Nulwala of our sister team BotsBurgh was a finalist in the ugly sweater competition! Our sister team ROGO Rose also won the best decorated robot award (since it’s Christmastime, of course)!
The Green and Red Scrimmage was a valuable experience for the team, from discovering problems with autonomous to advice about our portfolio.
