LIBRARY VEX GO OUTREACH

On September 14, 2024, Team Terabridges hosted a fun robotics event at the Upper St. Clair township library for any students who wanted to attend. There were 13 students between 4th and 6th grade who attended this robotics event.

How did members on team Terabridges help run this event?

In order to set up this event, our outreach team contacted Mrs. Colleen, in order to set up the date in order to host the event. Additionally, we create posters in order to encourage students to attend our robotics event.

At the event itself, the terabridges team mentors helped set up and clean up the field, and there were 4 Terabridges student team members’ who helped run the event. They helped the students by assisting them with their custom ideas and their built. They also assisted with providing ideas to code a way through the maze.

What did the students do at this robotics event?

During the two hours that this event lasted, the students built a custom Vex Go drivetrain based on given parts, and then they coded the robot to navigate through the maze.

Additionally, after coding the robot to go through the maze, we introduced these students to FIRST Robotics and FLL, which is the way many of these students can get involved with Robotics in Upper St. Clair High School or even robotics at different school districts.
